Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Humility is different from meek. Humility is part of being meek. Meek means submissive, gentle, tender-hearted, soft.
It is the COMPLETE SUBMISSION to the will of God.
Do you belong to those who are meek?
Who are the meek?
1. Obey the Lord.
– The essence of hearing is when you obey what you have heard. It is not a burden or obligation. We will not experience His grace if we are stubborn. We must have a teachable spirit. Because of pride, it is hard for the oher people to obey God. The teachable spirit slowly dissolves because of pride. We will experience God’s abundant love when we follow God’s will (just like what Abraham did before).
When a child disobeys his parent(s), it causes them pain. What more when we disobey God? After all His sacrifices and blessings, we will just disobey Him?
“If you love me, keep my commands.”
Obedience is driven by FAITH and LOVE.
Faith-because you believe that He is the living God, the everlasting God.
Love-because you love Him.
2. Trust in the Lord
– Even if you possess many talents, you are still depending on God, not on yourself.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”
The meek are strong but they don’t depend on themselves, they depend on God. We are not boasting what we have because for God, greatness is not important. He gave us many gifts but don’t let those belongings build a wall between you and God. Instead, use them to have an intimate relationship with him.
3. Delight is in the Lord
-experiencing the delight is automatic. It doesn’t depend on the occassion or on your mood. We must have the desire to know Him. When we truly know Him, we will experience the REAL JOY, PEACE OF MIND, and HIS PROMISES-the divine blessings:
Earthly blessings and Spiritual blessings(strength, satisfaction,endurance, etc….)
